Chief Mrs. Selina Akunna Enyioha is a distinguished public health practitioner with extensive experience in maternal and child health, family planning, and HIV/AIDS relief programs. She earned her M.Sc. in Public Health from the Nuffield Institute of Health at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
As a retired Public Health specialist, Mrs. Enyioha served as the Director Nursing at the State House Clinic. She has dedicated over three decades to public health, with significant contributions in maternal and childcare management. She has spent 25 years implementing family planning programs and 20 years working on HIV/AIDS relief initiatives. Her expertise and leadership have been instrumental in various health projects, including the UNICEF/FMOH Nutrition and Baby-friendly Initiative, where she oversaw project implementation.
Currently, Mrs. Enyioha serves as the Executive Director of the Citizens Health Education and Development Initiative (CHEDI). She also doubles as a trustee on the Board of the organization. In this role, she continues to drive community health projects, focusing on the welfare of vulnerable children and their mothers. Under her leadership, CHEDI has undertaken significant initiatives, such as empowering unemployed youth with vocational skills in collaboration with the World Bank staff.
Is a dedicated public health and development advocate with extensive experience in managing of health-related projects in Nigeria. He currently serves as the Program Manager for the Citizens’ Health Education and Development Initiative (CHEDI), a prominent organization focused on improving public health and education. In his role, Babadiya has played a pivotal role in identifying and addressing critical challenges within the healthcare sector, particularly in the areas of community health and health systems strengthening.
As Program Manager, Babadiya has been a strong advocate for increased government funding and improved infrastructure, aiming to enhance healthcare services, particularly in underserved rural communities. His advocacy efforts focus on ensuring that essential healthcare services, such as malaria prevention, nutritional support, and vaccination programs, are accessible to all, especially at the Primary Health Care (PHC) level. Under his leadership, CHEDI has successfully raised awareness about the availability of free malaria services and other critical health interventions, significantly contributing to the optimization of healthcare services in Nigeria.
Babadiya's work is characterized by his commitment to engaging with local communities and stakeholders. He fosters cooperation and builds partnerships to enhance the effectiveness of health interventions, ensuring that they are culturally sensitive and community-driven. His efforts align with the principles of Community-Led Monitoring (CLM), which emphasizes the importance of community engagement, accurate data collection, and responsive health service delivery. Through these initiatives, Babadiya ensures that healthcare programs are not only effective but also sustainable and tailored to the specific needs of the communities they serve.
In addition to his practical experience in public health, Babadiya holds a Master's Degree in History and Security Studies and a bachelor's degree in History. His academic background is complemented by qualifications in Educational Psychology and Curriculum Development, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of both the social and educational aspects of health a dn development advocacy. Furthermore, he is a certified Community Safe Space expert and a passionate gender advocate, demonstrating his commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments for all community members. Babadiya's diverse expertise and leadership skills make him a valuable asset to the public health field, where he continues to make significant contributions to improving health outcomes in Nigeria.
Ngozi Cordelia Ossai is a seasoned banker and administrator with over 10 years of demonstrable work experience in the financial sector. Throughout her career, she has excelled in various operational departments within the banking industry, showcasing her versatility and competence in handling complex financial tasks. Currently, she serves as the Administrative and Finance Officer at Citizens’ Health Education and Development Initiative (CHEDI), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving public health and education.
In her role at CHEDI, Ms. Ossai has been responsible for managing donor funds with a high degree of proficiency. Her meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills have ensured the efficient allocation and utilization of resources, which has been crucial to the success of numerous projects and initiatives. She is known for her ability to work collaboratively within a team, fostering a supportive and productive work environment. Moreover, Ms. Ossai is eager to continuously expand her knowledge and skills, demonstrating a strong willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing circumstances.

Pharm Ahaotu Kenneth is a graduate of Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He has over the years gathered experience as a Medical Lab Logistician. He is a self-motivated and highly analytical person .He is the founder of Oak Chemicals and Pharmacy. He has over fifteen years working experience as a Community Pharmacist. He is currently the Medical Logistic and Lab specialist at CHEDI.
Nkesi Enyioha is a graduate of Law from the Rivers State University of Science & Technology and a Bachelor of Law from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. She is an expert in intellectual property management including the filing of cases litigation and securing of IP certificates. She is a young but versatile lawyer that is passionately interested in Community work. She is currently the Legal Adviser at CHEDI.
Mrs Celine Ebere Njoku is a registered Nurse /Midwife. She has a B.Sc. degree in Nursing Administration from Imo State University. Thereafter she went further to Obtain a Diploma certificate in Community Maternal & Child Health from Khon Kaen University Thailand. She has over thirty years working experience as a Public Health officer at the University of Nigerian Teaching Hospital Nsukka, and also worked at State House Clinic, State Medical Centre Abuja amongst others. She is currently the Program Manager Maternal & Child care at CHEDI.
Dr Onyeonoro Ugochukwu Uchenna is currently a consultant public health physician with the Department of Community Medicine, Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, Abia State. His areas of key competencies include epidemiology, programme management, HIV/AIDS and reproductive health and tuberculosis and Infection Control. He worked as consultant/lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine, Abia State University, Aba Campus between 2007 and 2011, after a brief stint at Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu. He graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt in 1997. He became a fellow of National Postgraduate Medical College of Physicians in 2006 and a member, West African College of Physicians. His residency training was at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, 2002-2007. In 2014, he obtained a certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Leeds, UK. He was as for several states, federal and international among which are Abia State Agency for AIDS Control (ABSACA), Abia State Ministry of Health, German Leprosy/TB Relief Association (GLRA), National Agency for AIDS Control (NACA), World Bank, World Health Organisation and United Nation Population Fund. He has several publications in both local and international journals. He is married with 3 children – 2 girls and 1 boy.
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos .she is a certified nurse and Midwife, she has over thirty five years’ experience in Public health Administration. She has strong skills in Maternal and Child care and well experienced in HIV/AIDS care and counseling. She is a great community mobilizer that easily mobilizes community leaders for group mass action. She has also participated in the coordination of National Immunization programs at the Local Government level. She is currently the Project Manager in Health & Environmental Sanitation at CHEDI
Nwachukwu James Ifeanyi is a graduate of Computer Science from Bingham University Nasarawa. He is a young but highly innovative Information Technology professional who has developed himself by attending several professional courses in IT. He is a certified ICT practitioner, a software developer and a computer data analyst, and has over 10 years of working experience. He is a highly skilled web designer and an excellent communication officer. He is currently the IT/Communication expert at CHEDI.
